A character study in response to the human behavior exhibited during 2020 throughout the pandemic asking, "Where did our grace go hiding?
ORIGINAL CAPTION: This is Grace. She has many wonderful qualities but, unique to her, she practices a lot of mindfulness and often reflects about how to handle herself in tough situations. She knows that her true nature is tested in moments of difficulty, so she continually looks to people who handle life’s mess without creating much of a fuss. I’ve been thinking about Grace and how she shows calm and poise while handling crisis.
ORIGINAL CAPTION: What does Grace keep on her person? In her bag, she keeps:
...a handkerchief, for emotional emergencies; a bottle of cream, to be able to offer a soft hand to someone in need, eyeglasses, to see the good-intentions in others more clearly; a collapsible umbrella, for life's unexpected showers (be they storms or drizzles); and a locket, to bring an element of beauty to any environment she enters.
ORIGINAL CAPTION: This is Joy. People regularly comment on how happy she looks but she’s not afraid of the full range of emotions she feels. She’s conscious about gratitude and the gifts life has provided her, but also tries to see life’s obstacles from a wider perspective: facing them with courage, seeing them as one point along a longer trajectory, and not letting them get the best of her. I’ve been thinking about Joy and how she shows radiance no matter what life throws her way.

...a journal and pencil, to be able to reflect on what she is grateful for; an instant camera, to capture beauty in the moment; a change purse, to spend on a rainy day; a bottle of sunshine, to remember that the sun is always shining above the clouds; and candies, to sweeten life's flavor.
ORIGINAL CAPTION: This is Hope. She often finds that loved ones come to her when they’re experiencing heavy days because, no matter how dark a situation may seem, she always seems to show good faith. When asked her secret to keeping an optimistic outlook, she shares that she chooses the higher road, one day at a time, by recognizing the good in others. I’ve been thinking about Hope and how she always chooses to see the silver lining when there is so much gloominess fighting for our attention.

...a watch, to remind her to be present in this time; a hand mirror, to reflect back on her progress; a pair of keys, to unlock the hidden lessons in life's tests; band aids, for rough bumps along the way; and sunglasses, in order to see the silver lining in any difficult situation.
